The Peace Garden will have a sculpture at its focal point and this is being carved on site by local sculptor Michael Moralee. The design will be an abstract reflection of the stages of life and will complement the hard landscaping of stone paving and walling with something more organic and curved.
Michael is carving this from a piece of Portland stone and is on site most weekday afternoons. He is happy for passers by to come and take a look or even help chip away under his supervision.
Michael is also an accomplished photographer and you can see more of his work here.
The sculpture has been very kindly donated by villager Jerry Watson in memory of his late wife Sandra, who lies at rest in the churchyard.
