Benches Arrive!

It was great to see the four wooden benches arrive for the Peace Garden. Four beautiful wooden benches arrived on pallets. Job done? Not quite. To fix the benches, holes had to be drilled in the paving – then the fixings pushed through the holes, which again was no easy job as the paving slabs were thinner than the fixings. Tim Nicol and Ken Rawson were there, hoping this was going to be a reasonably quick job. Four hours of working in the immense heat of 30 degrees and more later the two of them sank into one of the benches, relieved the job was done!
