A Celebration of Peace

On November 11th we are planning a ‘Celebration of Peace’ in and around the Peace Garden. All are welcome and the event is free (food and drink available at reasonable prices). Assemble at the War Memorial at 16.00 with your own lanterns (some will be available for sale if needed) and then we will process down Church Street to the Peace Garden where we will have a marquee to keep us warm and dry. There will be music from a professional folk duo, "Empty Pages" singing from ‘Harmony on the Hill’, and a poetry reading. Hot Dogs and hot drinks will be available and a bonfire will be lit from the lanterns. Bring your own lanterns and mugs (to avoid too much plastic waste). The event is supported by East Northamptonshire Council, for which we are very grateful.

Full details of the full programme of events over the Nov10/11 weekend are on display in the village and on www.eastononthehill.com. These events include a major exhibition in the village hall over the whole weekend, a comprehensive Act of Remembrance on the 10th morning, (supported by Stamford Brass and local groups), a celebration Supper Dance in the evening of the 10th, and the traditional Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial on Sunday 11th from 10.45am.
